Engineering recruitment
SEM Talent recruits engineers across the UK: embedded and firmware, electronics and hardware, software, cloud and data, AI, cyber security and IT. It was started by a working embedded engineer, for a plain reason. The person screening engineering candidates almost never understands the engineering, so the shortlist is assembled on job titles and the employer does the real filtering at interview.
The difference
Embedded Software Engineer covers someone writing bare-metal drivers and someone writing Python on a Raspberry Pi. Both are honest titles for very different jobs, and a keyword search cannot tell them apart. We read what the person actually built, which is the only thing that separates them.
Your strongest candidate for an automotive role is frequently sitting in industrial or medical devices. We go and look there, because that person never appears in a search run on the sector instead of on the problem.
Engineers in the middle of a programme do not sit on job boards. We reach them with a conversation about what they are building, and that only works if the person calling can hold it.
Plenty of searches fail because the salary will not reach the market, not because the people do not exist. We can tell you that up front from what these roles are actually advertised at, and we would rather have the argument before the search than after it.

Send the stack, the team it sits in and what would make you say no at interview. If we are not the right firm for it, we will say so on the first call rather than take the brief anyway.
